City of Durham Christmas Festival

Durham''s awardwinning, annual Christmas Festival returns in 2011 with a wide range of festive entertainment for all the family in and around the World Heritage Site of the Cathedral and the Castle.
The huge craft and gift marquee on Palace Green features over 160 stalls across all three days of the event. In the Cathedral Cloisters, a Local Food Producers Market operates on both Friday and Saturday. In the Cathedral itself, Carols for All services take place on both Saturday and Sunday.
Weekend entertainment on Palace Green, between the Cathedral and the Castle, includes a live nativity tableau, sleigh rides around Palace Green from Jingle the Pony, live cooking demonstrations by renowned local chefs and tours of the World Heritage Site, ceramic tile decorating, juggling, a falconry display, tours of the Castle and World Heritage Site, and performances from a wide range of local musicians.
